Description
Polo Oriental (1994) was written for and dedicated to the Miquirebo Flute Quartet of Venezuela. It is a piece based on a style from eastern Venezuela closely linked with Spanish music. This version takes after the traditional harmonic sequence of the “Polo” to create two distinct sections, one slow and lyrical that transports us to an atmosphere of sadness and nostalgia, interrupted by the happier and more hopeful rhythm of the “Polo.”
